The Programmes of the Direct Support to the Tibet and Tibetans in the Czech Republic

Non-government and non-profitable organizations in the Czech Republic present the second round of the five programmes giving direct support to Tibet and Tibetans. It is possible to contribute financially.

NOTE: Before contributing or giving money to foundations listed bellow, please contact them or Kagyu Samye Dzong Plzen, to make sure that given addresses, bank accounts etc. are still valid.

1.Support for the Tibetan Children's Village in Dharamsala
The objective of this programme is to provide financial support for the Tibetan Children's Village in Dharamsala, where a thousand children live and study. They are orphans, semi-orphans, children of Tibetan refugees and children who were sent by their parents to India to be brought up in a free and democratic world. The programme is guaranteed by THE POTALA FUND.

2. Support for Tibetan Students in the Czech Republic
The objective of this programme is to provide education to one or more Tibetan students from Tibetan exile communities at one of the Czech universities. The study subject would be chosen regarding to practical use directly in Tibet (such as geology, building engineering, medicine, etc.). The Council of the Tibetan Government in Exile in Dharamsala selects the students for education. The programme is guaranteed by THE POTALA FUND.

3. Support for the Former Political Prisoners
The objective of this programme is to provide financial support to previous political prisoners, who successfully escape from Tibet into exile after leaving prison. These people are in great need of help to find a job and also accommodation. The programme is co-ordinated with The Tibetan Government in Exile and also with the non-government organisation representing ex-political prisoners, Gu-chu-sum. The programme is guaranteed by THE LUNGTA TSG.

4. Support for the Tibetan Monasteries
The objective of this programme is to provide financial support to Tibetan monasteries, which have been a part of Tibetan life for centuries. Many of the Tibetan monasteries have been destroyed and recently few have been under reconstruction, but renovation work on them is very slow. The programme includes supporting the monasteries in Tibet (such as the Tsurphu monastery etc.) and also the monasteries in Tibetan exile communities (for example the Khandro Rinpoche monastery in northern India). The programme is guaranteed by THE STOOSM Organization.

5. Support for the Tibetan Monks and Nuns
The objective of this programme is to provide financial support for the monks and nuns, who have been coerced to escape from Tibet into exile (mostly into the India). The programme is co-ordinated with The Council for Religion and Culture of the Tibetan Government in Exile in Dharamsala. The programme is guaranteed by THE STOOSM Organization.
